Ideas:
When deciding on the type of film we were going to create, we realised we would need to be creative with the technology at our disposal. We came upon the idea of a semi-thriller, during the course of the making of this we decided to try to exploit the capabilities of Adobe Creative Suite 4. Our first idea was a semi-horror film, featuring two parallel story-lines. The first is of a male character wandering through a forest, being stalked by another character. The second is of another male character in an office, this character is on the phone to somebody the audience does not know the identity of. The opening scene keeps switching between these story-lines increasingly rapidly, until there is a climax of the man in the woods being assaulted. We liked this idea at first, but it would require a lot of time to film, in a lot of different locations. So we decided to develop this idea in a slightly different manner.
Final Idea:
Our final idea is called 'Diversion' in which the opening scene features a small car chase, with the reason and result remaining a mystery until later into the film. We decided to create this idea because it was the most feasible, as the setting was local to us. We also chose this idea because we thought it would turn out to be a well put together and exiting opening scene.
Casting and Actors:
I am going to work in a pair, as a pair we have chosen our potential actors, the main charactor is going to be 'Ashley Scott' the other member of my group, who is perfect for the role. He is an intellegent individual, and a likeable main character. Also 'Aaron Scott' is going to feature in the scene, he is going to play the role of the antagonist, he doesn't conventially resemble a stereotypical villain, therefore the storyline will not be an obvious one. Both of these characters are reasonably reliable, and are available as and when we need to film. We also later decided we would need another character, so 'Andre Scott' was also recruited to play a small role in the scene. The majority of the filming would be done by me, however if necessary, some filming could be done by 'Ash'.
Location:
The location of our idea starts at a road relatively close to 'Ash's' house. The road is surrounded by large fields, and is relatively far away from civilisation, apart from Ash's house, which is where the rest of the filming will take place. We originaly wanted to board up the windows of the house and make it look 'abandoned', but we had second thoughts about this, and decided to make the house look 'natural' and 'lived in'.
Props:
We decided to use a wide variety of props, we need torches so the characters are able to see inside the house, and one of the most important props we will need is going to be a car.
Issues:
Lighting is a potential issue for us when we are filming, because it gets dark relatively early in the afternoon, so we will have a limited time to film if we are going to film after school, so it is most likely that we will film on a weekend. Weather is also a potential issue, if it rains we cannot film outside as it could damage the camera.
